EIP on Raw Materials: New Call for Commitments

The European Innovation Partnership on Raw Materials has currently opened a new Call for Commitments, which will be open from 1 December 2015 until 1 March 2016.

Commitments are joint undertakings by several partners, who commit to activities aimed at achieving the EIP's objectives. They aim to deliver innovative products, processes, services, technologies, business models or ideas that can be brought to the market or that would bring wider societal benefits. The EIP's commitments are essential to achieve the objectives set out in the EIP's Strategic Implementation Plan.

The first Call for Commitments in 2013 led to the recognition of 80 Raw Materials Commitments (RMCs). The ECAMOB RMC jointly owned by EOS and EPF has been officially recognized by the European Commission. On 18 December a phone conference meeting is scheduled in order to evaluate the progress of ECAMOB.

The deadline for submissions is 1 March 2016. Submissions must be sent electronically by using the form available on the website of the European Innovation Partnership on Raw Materials.

The European Commission will review all submitted commitments and assess the extent to which they meet the conditions set out in these guidelines and are likely to make a significant contribution to meeting the objectives of the EIP. Based on a proposal by the European Commission, the High Level Steering Group of the EIP will decide which commitments will be officially recognised as RMCs under the EIP.
