The geography of REDD+ finance deforestation, emissions, and the targeting of forest conservation finance

At the end of August 2016, the green no profit Organisation, Forest Trends published the Report entitled “The geography of REDD+ finance deforestation, emissions, and the targeting of forest conservation finance”. The Report explains that “The nearly $6 billion pledged to forest conservation in ten key countries under the UN program Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation (REDD+) is successfully targeting nations and provinces with high levels of deforestation and associated carbon emissions, according to a new report by Forest Trends, a non-profit group that tracks global forest developments”.

Forest Trends aims at conserving forests and other ecosystems through the creation and wide adoption of a broad range of environmental finance, markets and other payment and incentive mechanisms.
