In July 2019 compared with June 2019, seasonally adjusted production in the construction sector decreased by 0.7% in the euro area (EA19) and by 0.1% in the EU28, according to first estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.

In the EU28, civil engineering fell by 0.6% and building construction by 0.1%. Among Member States for which data are available, decreases in production in construction were recorded in France (-4.2%), Slovakia (-2.0%) and Poland (-0.6%). The highest increases were observed in Hungary (+9.6%), Romania (+4.1%) and Portugal (+2.3%).
