INTERNATIONAL TIMBER ACADEMY 2020
LAB University of Applied Sciences in Finland is Scandinavia’s leading university for Wood Technology studies. The university will arrange, together with the Association of Finnish Sawmillmen, a comprehensive Diploma course in Nordic Wood Industries during spring and summer of 2020.
COURSE PROGRAMME
February 2020: Forestry and environmental issues
March 2020: Sawmilling
April 2020: Panel products
May 2020: Global wood industry
30th July – 7th August: Finland
From February to May the lectures, exercises and tests will be conducted remotely over the internet. Finally in the last module the students will be visiting forest operation sites, sawmills, plywood mills, glulam factories etc.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS
Students are expected to have a minimum 2nd level qualification and some year’s work experience from wood product related industries. Each module is 3 ECTS points. The number of students is restricted to 35, with maximum 3 from each country to make this an excellent opportunity to network with future decision makers.
The cost of the course is euro 1.000 per person, covering the study material and excursions, accommodation and most of the meals in Finland. Students cover their own travel to and from Finland.
