Following the vote in the ITRE Committee meeting on the 6th July on the own initiative titled “Report on maximising energy efficiency of the EU building stock”, EOS, the European Panel Federation (EPF) and the European Parquet Federation (FEP) published a joint press release in order to emphasise -as already highlighted in the Report- the key role of wood products in decarbonising the buildings sector.

Hopefully, the Report will be then adopted by the Plenary session. If so, this Report will become an important tool for support our advocacy actions on wood promotion.

In the Report, the ITRE Committee "Reminds that sustainable building materials such as certified wood are essential for achieving low-carbon and long-lasting building stock, and that construction opens an opportunity to store carbon into bio-based building products in the limits of sustainable availability"
