EU countermeasures against American tariffs put on hold

President Donald Trump has announced a 90-day pause for countries hit by higher US tariffs. Reacting to this, yesterday President von der Leyen announced that the EU countermeasures against US tariffs have been put on hold for 90 days. Negotiations with the US will now take place. If the negotiations are not satisfactory, the countermeasures will kick in.

Be informed that the countermeasures put on hold by the EU do refer to the retaliatory package that was put together by the European Commission against the US tariffs on European steel and aluminium. American wood products were allegedly part of this retaliatory package.
