On behalf of the Timber Trade in Ireland, Gerry McGovern together with the European Organisation of the Sawmill Industry (EOS) and the European Timber Federation (ETTF), are inviting you to the marvellous city of Dublin for the International Softwood Conference 2026 – one of the most awaited events of the year in the    wood world.

On 28^th October, we invite early arrivers to join us on a ‘Highlights of Dublin Tour’, which provides an overview of Dublin’s sights, such as the Irish Emigration Museum and the Jameson Whisky Distillery. In the evening, you are invited to join us in the spectacular Guinness Storehouse for a welcome reception. Take part in the interactive Guinness Experience — learn to pour the perfect pint and enjoy some Irish craic with fellow attendees.

The 29^th October will be the main conference day, taking place in the Grand Hotel in Malahide Dublin. We will then spend the evening in a spectacular venue in Dublin. This networking dinner will give you the opportunity to broaden your network and  talk to main actors of the international softwood markets.

The conference will offer the opportunity to deeply scrutinize trends in the timber market focusing on facts and figures showing softwood production as well as consumption in the most relevant countries for the business – not just in Europe! The current geopolitical landscape is triggering multiple changes in the way we live and in the way softwood timber is dealt. Speakers will try to gauge what the future will hold as the sawmillers and timber traders are reckoning with a rapidly changing world, with policy measures taken at national and European level also having a strong effect on the business. More of that on October 28^th and 29^th!
