The Forest Bioeconomy Investment Accelerator 2026, a joint initiative of the European Investment Bank Group, the European Forest Institute and the Bioregions Facility, has launched its call for projects.

Approximately 10 forest and bioeconomy projects will be selected to participate in a closed-door dialogue with EIB Group experts and investment practitioners, focusing on investment readiness, financing pathways, and bankability.

• Eligible projects include those developing innovative, resource-efficient, and bio-based materials with positive environmental and social impacts, as well as solutions for wood-based construction, more sustainable and energy-efficient processing, manufacturing, and market deployment of both traditional and emerging forest-based products (including wood, cork, and natural resins).

Key information:

• Target applicants: SMEs, start-ups, scale-ups, project developers, public authorities, and other organisations that have completed the testing or pilot phase and are ready to scale up by raising finance (including venture debt, corporate loans, and private equity).
• Thematic scope: circular forest bioeconomy; sustainable forest management, climate adaptation and forest restoration; forest project aggregation and investment platforms.
