Construction and demolition waste is one of the largest waste streams in the EU (accounting for between 25-30% of all waste generated). Concrete, bricks, gypsum, wood, glass, metals and other common construction materials can all be recycled, saving space in landfills, and reducing the amount of virgin materials excavated for building activities.
