Club du Bois meeting in Brussels on 20-21 October 2015
On the 20 and 21 October 2015, the 2nd Club du Bois meeting under the chairwomanship of Mrs. Maria Noichl, Member of the European Parliament, will be held at the European Parliament in Brussels.
Established in 2006 by the European Woodworking Industries, the Club du Bois is a cross-party discussion forum aiming to create a sustained dialogue with Members of the European Parliament on all EU legislative issues affecting the sector in Europe.
The Club du Bois meeting is jointly organised by the European Organisation of the Sawmill Industry (EOS), the European Panel Federation (EPF), the Confederation of Woodworking Industries (CEI-Bois) and is supported by the European Parquet Federation (FEP). The event will cover two sessions, specifically:
Club du Bois Dinner on 20th October at 19h30 at the Club Royal des Guides, Rue d’Arlon 32, 1000 Brussels
Club du Bois Breakfast Meeting on 21st October at 08h00 at the Salon des Membres in the EU Parliament in Brussels, with following agenda:
- The Bio-economy in practice: Public procurement and planning policies to develop a low-carbon, bio-based economy – Mr David Hopkins, Timber Trade Federation, Executive Director, Wood for Good
- What wood can do? Examples of the most significant wood buildings in terms of architecture and reduction of CO2 – Mr Stefan Rubner, Architect and Winner of the world environmental prize Solar Decathlon 2014
- Recycled Wood in the Circular Economy – Mr Stefano Saviola, Gruppo Mauro Saviola, the leading transformer of wood waste in the world and Board Member EPF
- Future Direction for the Woodworking industries – by CEI-Bois
